The Winemaking

GrapeHeart celebrates the heritage of making delicious wines, by hand, on a small scale, while emphasizing the artistry of the master winemaker. Grapes are carefully selected from our vineyard in Suisun Valley, providing an excellent base for our winemaker from which to extract concentrated aromas and flavors, ultimately creating elegant, unique, well rounded red wines with rich texture and a long lasting, balanced finish. We are dedicated exclusively to 100 percent single vineyard wines that best express the distinguish personality of the vineyard.  What makes Suisun Valley wines special is that our’s is the 2nd oldest wine valley in the area after Napa Valley. Similar terroir, complexity and quality without Napa Valley wine prices.

Winemaker Jean Hoefliger was born and raised in Switzerland. Completing a wine making and viticulture degree at the Swiss federal school of Changins, Jean came to California where he spent five years as winemaker for Newton Vineyard. In 2005, Jean began working as a Consulting Winemaker for different wineries and chateaux in different parts of the world – from Napa Valley to Switzerland to Italy.
